Promotion of Active Learning

Students learn more effectively when they participate in the process of learning. Active learning is a form of learning in which teaching strives to engage students to participate in the class and collaborate with each other. Therefore, it is our school’s major concern to provide quality education by reinforcing the culture of active learning through various measures:

  • helping students to set goals for their studies, select strategies to realize them and evaluate the success of the efforts made;
  • developing learning habits by requiring students to take notes during lessons, using revised scoring rubrics for classroom performance, introducing the Active Learning Award, and requiring students taking part in exchange programmes to adopt an active learning attitude;
  • developing learning skills by designing learning activities requiring specific skills of active learning, requiring students to make personal notes for revision, and promoting reading further through various new activities;
  • adopting teaching pedagogies which strengthen the element of peer interaction in lessons.
