S3 Environmental Awareness Outing Day

2024-01-23

The Moral and Civic Education Committee organized the Environmental Awareness Outing Day for all S3 students. Through authentic experiences and engaging activities, it aims to cultivate a strong sense of environmental awareness among our students.

5 activities, covering various environmental issues, were open for our students to choose from. Some of them took part in a  waterbird watching survey at Nam Sang Wai and gained valuable insights into the importance of wetlands with the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society under the Sustainable Development School Outreach Programme of the Environmental and Ecology Bureau. Part of the students participated in a captivating ecology-themed orienteering at Shui Wau, Lantau Island. Some students opted for guided tours to Ecopark and WEEE Park at Tuen Mun to learn more about how Hong Kong handles the domestic and electronic waste we produce. The guided tour to the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change at CUHK, co-organized with the school’s Careers Team, appealed to many students. Not only did they enjoy the interactive displays and games at the Museum but also got a chance to chat with our graduates studying at CUHK about university life and future careers. The last group of students visited the CIC Zero Carbon Park with our STEM Education Committee to look into the solutions to tackle climate change with state-of-the-art construction technology.
