School Events

Senior Girls' Choir 5 & 9 March 2010
Our Senior Girls' Choir won the Champion in Singing in English in the Intermediate - Age 16 or under of the Girls' Choir Section whilst our Junior Treble Mixed Choir came 3rd in Singing in English Section in the 62nd Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. Our congratulations to them and their teachers concerned!
Parents' Day-cum-Mini-Open Day 7 February 2010
The Parents' Day-cum-Mini-Open Day was held in our school providing opportunities for the parents to communicate with our teachers and the Principal to discuss about the performance of their children. Our Student Ambassadors also introduced our school's facilities to the visiting primary pupils as well as our alumni.
Eastern District School Public Speaking Competition 6 February 2010
Our students participated in the Eastern District Schools Public Speaking Competition and won two Champions, two First Runners-up, one Second Runner-up and two Merit Awards. Liang Kai Ho of S6A won the Overall Champion in the Senior Secondary Section.
Internet Safety Talk 4 February 2010
In the assembly, the Principal expressed his view on the recent saga of LegCo and encouraged the "win-win" attitude so as to promote a harmonious community. Newly appointed prefects were introduced. Two talks - GAPSK Test on Putonghua and "Be Net-wise" on Internet saftey were held.
Mock Lunar New Year Fair 1 - 3 February 2010
Our S4 BAFS students applied their knowledge and learning at school and run their Mock Lunar New Year Fair Stalls in the school hall as young entrepreneurs. The event was well supported by the Supervisor and the IMC Managers. Also the Parent-Teacher Association ran a booth to raise funds for the welfare of the students.
Red Cross Youth Awards Presentation Ceremony 31 January 2010
Our Red Cross Youth Unit 222 won the Overall Champion of Training Shield Competition and was commended as one of the Outstanding Youth Units on the Hong Kong Island. Chu Kwun Lun of S7A was awarded the Red Cross Youth of the Year 2009 and 8 other students won the Youth Attainment Badges.
Eastern District Fire Safety Carnival 31 January 2010
Our Students' Association supported the Eastern District Fire Safety Carnival to alert the residents in the Eastern District to pay attention to fire safety and prevention. A game stall was designed and run, attracting a lot of people to play their games and achieving the aim of the Carnival.
Youth Visual Arts Exhibition 29 - 31 January 2010
The specially designed cityscape models and paintings of our students were displayed in the 2010 Youth Visual Arts Exhibition held at the Hong Kong Central Library demonstrating their creativity in artwork.
Staff Development Day 13 January 2010
A Staff Development Day on Stress Management & Relaxation was organized in collaboration with Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China for our teachers to equip them with the skills on how to keep fit both physically and mentally.
Our School Band in Action 27 December 2009
Our School Band won the Silver Prize in 2009 Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows - Symphonic Band Contest organized by Music Office of Leisure & Cultural Services Department. Congratulations to them!
Christmas Programme 22 December 2009
A Christmas programme was held in the Hall with variety shows on choir singing, performance by handbells group, Chinese orchestra and string orchestra. Our S7 students thanked the teachers for their upbringing over the years. The programme ended in a festive mood with lucky draws.
Talk on S1 Discretionary Places Application 12 December 2009
About six hundred Primary 6 pupils and parents from various districts visit our School and attended the talk on "Strategic Consideration on S1 Discretionary Places Application & Central Allocation" delivered by the Principal in the Hall.
Closing Ceremony of CCSC SAGE Elder Academy 12 December 2009
A closing ceremony of the CCSC SAGE Elder Academy was held for those elders who had completed their computer courses during the past two months. A sharing session was conducted with positive views from both the elders and the students.
Anti-drug Talk 8 December 2009
In this assembly, the Principal emphasized the importance of Effective Time Management as the third element of self-leadership. A book sharing session was also organized to strengthen the reading skills on topics related to Liberal Studies.
Running for Little Chief Executive 6 December 2009
Ma Ki of S2D emerged as one of the 32 Little Chief Executives in the 5th Election of Hong Kong Little Chief Executives after going through a number of tough election campaigns.
Annual Speech Day 2009 1 December 2009
The Hon. Jasper Tsang Yok Sing, GBS, JP, President of the Legislative Council of HKSAR, who was the Guest of Honour of our Annual Speech Day, presented the certificates and prizes to our students. He commended our students' achievements and reminded them to treasure their secondary school life.
Eastern District Secondary School Parade 28 November 2009
Our School set up a booth in the Eastern District Secondary Schools Parade to disseminate our school's information and the procedures for the application of S1 Discretionary Places for 2010/11 school year.
Walkathon for Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital 28 November 2009
About 200 staff, students and parents participated in the 2009 Walkathon for Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. Our String Orchestra also performed in Lei Yu Mun Park & Holiday Village to entertain the participants at the end of the Walkathon.
Singing at the Eastern District East Asian Games Carnival 21 November 2009
16 junior level students of our School sang the theme song "You are the Legend" of the Hong Kong - 2009 East Asian Games at the Eastern District Fun Day  for the promotion of the East Asian Games and were well received with big applause from the audience.
Meeting with S1 Parents & Volunteers 21 November 2009
Besides the Principal's sharing, a meeting between the S1 Form-teachers and the parents was organized. A briefing on the duties of the parent volunteers was also run by the Parent-Teacher Association followed by a consultation session with the Principal.
Singing Concert 16 - 18 November 2009
A Music Carnival was organized in the Hall by Music Association with programmes including singing contest, song dedication, concert and music performances.
Anti-drug Talk 13 November 2009
In this assembly, the Principal emphasized the importance of Goal Setting as the second element of self-leadership. An anti-drug talk was also organized to raise the awareness of the students on drug prevention and hazards of drug addiction.
Lifewide Learning Day 11 November 2009
Educational visits were organized on this Lifewide Learning Day for the whole school with students of different levels visiting different places for wider exposure. On the whole, the event was successful. Our students enjoyed their visits and found them resourceful giving them insights from other perspectives.
Fashion Design Competition 4 November 2009
The Art Club organized the Fashion Design Competition - The Encounter attracting a number of our students from all levels to participate. Their designs, being beautiful and creative, were shown to our students and teachers in a catwalk in the school hall.
Hong Kong - Macao PTA Sharing Day 2 November 2009
Hong Kong - Macao PTA Sharing Day 2009 was hosted by our School to enable our Principal and PTA executive committee members to share their experience in the running of the Parent-Teacher Association.
Parent Education Talk on Liberal Studies & Assessments 31 October 2009
Our Parent-Teacher Association organized a talk on Liberal Studies & its Assessments by Mr. K.Y. Lo and Mr. H.B. Ng for our parents. The talk was a huge success attracting about 300 parents to attend with a lot of questions on its study methods and preparation for examination.
Annual General Meeting of Parent-Teacher Association 25 October 2009
The 11th Annual General Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association was held in the school hall with twelve candidates vying for the election of parent executive committee positions and two for the Parent Manager. Mr. Eddie Kwan was elected the Chairman of the Association for 2009-2010 as well as the Parent Manager of the IMC.
Election of Students' Association 23 October 2009
The Principal introduced the "I Speak in English" Award Scheme and CCSC Pathfinding Award Scheme in the Assembly. The single cabinet Zealous run its campaign for the election of the Students' Association for the academic year 2009-2010.
Eastern District Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2009 17 October 2009
Our students participated in the Eastern District Chinese Calligraphy Competition. Poon Sze Lok of S3 won the 1st Prize in the Junior Section, Wu Yi of S4 won the 3rd Prize in the Senior Section and two other students gained Merit Awards in  the Competition. Our congratulations to them!
Opening Ceremony of CCSC SAGE Elderly Academy 17 October 2009
As a socially responsible educational institute, our School collaborated with the Hong Kong Society for the Aged to establish the CCSC SAGE Elder Academy. An opening ceremony was held in the School Hall and our student tutors met the potential elder learners.
Annual Athletics Meet 14 October 2009
Our Annual Athletics Meet was held in Aberdeen Sports Ground. The Champion was Yellow House. The First and Second Runners-up were Green House and Blue House respectively. Mr. Chan Hung Kee, J.P., our IMC Manager was invited to address the gathering and present the trophies.

Our Annual Athletics Meet was kicked off with a torch relay as a promotion of the Hong Kong - 2009 East Asian Games followed by the heat events in which the competitors of the four Houses came close to each other.
Fun Fair 29 - 30 September 2009
A fun fair was jointly run by all the clubs and societies to inform the students their programme plans and exciting activities to be held in the academic year 2009 - 2010.
CGCC Charity Walk for the Community Chest 27 September 2009
In celebration of the PRC's 60th Anniversary, our S5 to S7 students participated in the CGCC Charity Walk for the Community Chest whilst our Red Cross Youth Team was on parade in the Parade Performances in Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC.
National Education Talk on the Path of Economic Development of China 25 September 2009
The Principal talked about Being Proactive in the assembly, followed by the introduction of the Prefect Body and the presentations of Ngam Bei Service Trip by our students and the Path of Economic Development of the People's Republic of China by Ms Kwan of National Education Centre.
Swimming Gala 23 September 2009
The Swimming Gala was held in Chai Wan Swimming Pool. The Champion was Yellow House again. The First and Second Runners-up were Blue House and Red House respectively. Mr. Raymond Cheung, Director of Cheung Chuk Shan Foundation Fund, was the Guest of Honour of the event.
Commendation of our student teachers 20 September 2009
Our student teachers, who helped the elders learn in the PowerPoint and Facebook courses offered by CCSC SAGE Elder Academy, were commended. Their voluntary service means much to the elders and helps reduce the digital divide.
Visit to The Halena May in Central 12 September 2009
The History Society organized a visit to The Halena May for our S4 History students. It is a heritage established to support women living and working away from home, and contributing to the Hong Kong community during the British colonial period.
CCSC Campus 1 September 2009
The School opened and the Principal welcomed all students back to school in the Assembly.
Recorder Ensemble Performance in the 88th Anniversary of FDBWA 29 August 2009
Four S3 & S4 students who were prize-winners of Recorder Ensemble in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival were invited to perform their masterpieces in the 88th Anniversary of Five Districts Business Welfare Association and received huge applause from the audience.
Eastern District Schools Music, Dance & Speech Winners' Performance 30 May 2009
Our School Band performed the Gold Award winning pieces in 2008 Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows - Symphonic Band Contest in Eastern District Schools Music, Dance & Speech Winners' Performance and four of our students served as the Masters of Ceremony.
Preliminary Round of History Role-play Competitions 21, 22 & 28 April 2009
The preliminary rounds of the History Role-play Competition were held for S2, S3 & S4 students during lunch hours with respective themes on Napoleon Bonaparte, Jiang Qing and Catherine the Great. The better teams were selected to enter the final to be held during the post-examination period.
Inter-House Debate 21 April 2009
An Inter-house Debate was conducted in this assembly and the motion was "The Government ought to set up a statutory minimum wage." After heated debates between the two parties, the Joint Yellow & Green House Team beat the Joint Red & Blue Team marginally by one mark.
Hong Kong Secondary School Model United Nations Conference 2009 11 - 13 April 2009
Four S6 students participated in the Hong Kong Secondary School Model United Nations Conference 2009 and served as the delegates in the Economic & Social Council and the World Health Organization.
2nd Closing Ceremony of CCSC SAGE Elderly Academy 8 April 2009
A closing ceremony of the second round of the CCSC SAGE Elderly Academy for the current academic year was held for those elders who had completed their computer courses during the past two months. A task well-done was demonstrated by our student tutors and volunteers.
Our Girls School Basketball Champion Team 2008/2009 6 April 2009
Our Girls School Basketball Team won the Championship in the Division Two Girls C Grade of the Inter-School Basketball Competition 2008/2009 (Hong Kong Island).
40th Anniversary Nite 28 March 2009
The Anniversary Nite marked the climax of the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of our School with Ms Florence Hui, J.P. as the Guest of Honour. The event was a huge success with the joint efforts of our current and old students under the guidance of our teachers.
English Carnival 2009 21 March 2009
Wong Chi Ki of S3D won the Grand Prize in the Hong Kong Flower Show 2009 - Nanyang Commercial Bank Student Drawing Competition. In fact, our students won the Champion, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up and Commendation Award in the Junior Secondary Section of the Competition.
Anniversary Dinner 2009 20 March 2009
Our School kicks off its Anniversary functions with its 40th Anniversary Dinner organized by the Old Students' Association. The function was a tremendous success with 65 tables, the largest gathering ever. The celebration last till mid-night with a lot of alumni shooting photos at the end.
English Carnival 2009 12 - 13 March 2009
Our English Society organized an English Carnival to promote students' interest in using English in their daily life through the English Ambassadors. Board display and games were organized around a theme on English TV dramas this year.
PTA Day Camp 8 March 2009
Our Parent-Teacher Association organized a day camp at Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Camp. A total of 80 S1 to S3 parents and students together with our Principal and teachers participated and enjoyed the programmes run by the social workers of the Methodist Epworth Village Community Centre.
Social Service Trip to Yan Bei 4 March 2009
In the assembly, Mr. Tong introduced a social service trip to Yan Bei in China to be organized for our senior students during the coming summer vacation and shared his experience when he visited there earlier. The Liberal Studies Team also organized a talk on human rights.
Champion in LiveWIRE Hong Kong Programme - New Year Bazaar 28 February 2009
Our S4D & S4E Commerce students won the First Prize in the LiveWIRE Hong Kong Programme - New Year Bazaar after their success in running their 2009 Lunar New Year Fair Stalls. Our congratulations to them!
Chinese Week 23 - 27 February 2009
A Chinese Week was organized by Chinese Association in the school hall with board display and games. The theme this year was about some taboos and superstitions in the Chinese culture and tradition.
