conducted in this assembly and the motion was "The Government ought to
set up a statutory minimum wage." After heated debates between the two
parties, the Joint Yellow & Green House Team beat the Joint Red
& Blue Team marginally by one mark.

second round of the CCSC SAGE Elderly Academy for the current academic
year was held for those elders who had completed
their computer courses during the past two months. A task well-done was

Grand Prize in the Hong Kong Flower Show 2009 - Nanyang Commercial Bank
Student Drawing Competition. In fact, our students won the Champion,
1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up and Commendation Award in the Junior
Secondary Section of the Competition. |

Our School kicks off its
Anniversary functions with its 40th Anniversary Dinner organized by the
Old Students' Association. The function was a tremendous success with
65 tables, the largest gathering ever. The celebration last till
mid-night with a lot of alumni shooting photos at the end. |

organized an English Carnival to promote students' interest in using
English in their daily life through the English Ambassadors. Board
display and games were organized around a theme
on English TV dramas this year. |

Association organized a day camp
at Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Camp. A total of 80 S1 to S3 parents and
students together with our Principal and teachers participated
and
enjoyed the programmes run by the social workers of the Methodist
Epworth Village Community Centre. |

In the assembly, Mr. Tong
introduced a social service trip to Yan Bei in China to be organized
for our senior students during the coming summer vacation
and shared his experience when he visited there earlier. The Liberal
Studies

organized by Chinese Association in the school hall with board display
and games. The theme this year was about some taboos and superstitions
in the Chinese culture and tradition. |

Day-cum-Mini-Open Day was held in our school providing opportunities
for the parents to communicate with our teachers and the Principal to
discuss about the performance of their children. Our
Student Ambassadors also introduced our school's facilities to the

prizes for collection provided that they could make a correct guess on

held in the Hall with variety shows on choir singing, performance by
handbells group, Chinese orchestra and string orchestra. Our S7
students thanked the teachers for their upbringing over the years. The
programme ended in a festive mood with lucky draws. |

Hospital. Our School won the Highest Participation Organization Award

organized on this Lifewide Learning Day for the whole school with
students of different levels visiting different places for wider
exposure. On the whole, the event was successful. Our students enjoyed
their visits and found them resourceful giving them insights from other

educational institute, our School collaborated with the Hong Kong
Society for the Aged to establish the CCSC SAGE Elderly Academy. An
opening ceremony was held in the School Hall and our student tutors met
the potential elder learners. An information talk on NSS subjects was

format of the assembly was modified with more involvements of students

organized through the Education Bureau, paid a visit to our School and
the Principal gave a talk about our work done for our
students. They then got a better understanding of the Hong Kong
Education System and showed an appreciation of our achievements. |

levels to participate. Their designs, being beautiful and creative,

educational psychologist. The workshop was well accepted and rated

supported the Eastern District Fire Safety Carnival to alert the
residents in the Eastern District to pay attention to fire safety and
prevention. A game stall was designed and run, attracting a lot of
people to play their games and achieving the aim of the
Carnival. |

extremely well in the Eastern District Schools Public Speaking
Competition and won two Champions, two 1st Runners-up, two 2nd
Runners-up and four Merit Awards in three different secondary sections

in the covered playground with themes on science about clothings and
coloration, Hubble Space Telescope, Octopus cards and the problematic

about astronomical telescope by Mr. Tong. |
