Our students, led by Miss
J. Chan, won the 1st Runner-up of the 2nd Hong Kong Cup Foreign Affairs
Knowledge Contest and were invited to a trip to Beijing and the Olympic
Games 2008 during the summer vacation. Congratulations to all of them!

Three of our S6A students
won three awards out of a total of ten in "Ms Yam Kim Fai
through the Eyes of a Secondary School Student" Essay Writing
Competition. Congratulations to them and their teacher Mr. L. Lee!

Li Chiu Lok of S4B
performed her winning piece of public speaking on the Olympic Games
through the eyes of Chinese people in Eastern District Schools Music,
Dance & Speech Winners' Performance and four of our students
served as the Masters of Ceremony.

Sixty Principals of Korea,
organized through the Education Bureau, paid a visit to our School and
the Principal gave a talk about our work done for our
students. They then got a better understanding of the Hong Kong
Education System and showed an appreciation of our achievements.

The Art Club organized the
Fashion Design Competition attracting a number of our students from all
levels to participate. Their designs, being beautiful and creative,
were shown to our students and teachers in a catwalk in the school hall.

The Principal talked about Green Internet Culture. The
representatives of the Hong Kong Model
United
Nations Club shared their
experience as delegates of various countries discussing on hot
issues about our world. An Inter-house Debate on "collective memory vs
economic development" followed and the Joint
Red & Blue House Team won.

The preliminary round of
the History Role-play Competitions were held for S2, S3 & S4
students during the lunch time on the above dates. The respective
themes for S2, S3 & S4 were Alexander the Great, Hong Yu and
Evita. The better teams were selected to enter the final of the
competition during the post-examination period. |

The Principal explained the
rationale on setting up the school rules to the
students. Dr. W.Y. Ip, Chairperson of Hong Kong
Weightlighting & Powerlifting Association, shared with us her
ICAN story how she became the Champions in a
number of powerlifting competitions under the women's category
in Hong Kong and Asia. |

Our Parent-Teacher
Association organized a series of workshops for our parents.
The first and kick-off one was on values formation by Mr. H.T. Chu, an
educational psychologist. The workshop was well accepted and rated
highly by our parents. |

Our English Society
organized an English Carnival to promote students' interest in using
English in their daily life through the English Ambassadors. Board
display and games were organized around a theme
on supernaturals including monsters, vampires, werewolves and
others. |

Our Parent-Teacher
Association organized a day camp
at Lady Maclehose Holiday Village. 59 S1 to S2 parents and
students together with our Principal and teachers participated
and
enjoyed the programmes run by the social workers of the Methodist
Epworth Village Community Centre. |

Our Students' Association
supported the Eastern District Fire Safety Carnival to alert the
residents in the Eastern District to pay attention to fire safety and
prevention. A game stall was designed and run, attracting a lot of
people to play their games and achieving the aim of the
Carnival. |

Our students performed
extremely well in the Eastern District Schools Public Speaking
Competition and won two Champions, two 1st Runners-up, two 2nd
Runners-up and four Merit Awards in three different secondary sections
of the Competition. Congratulations to them and their teachers! |

A Science Week was jointly
organized by Science Club, Astronomy Club, IT Club and Mathematics Club
in the covered playground with themes on science about clothings and
coloration, Hubble Space Telescope, Octopus cards and the problematic
periods in Mathematics. The highlight of the function was the talk
about astronomical telescope by Mr. Tong. |

The Parents'
Day-cum-Mini-Open Day was held in our school providing opportunities
for the parents to communicate with our teachers and the Principal to
discuss about the performance of their children. Our
Student Ambassadors also introduced our school's facilities to the
visiting primary pupils as well as our alumni. |

Our S4 Commerce students
applied their knowledge and learning at school and run their Lunar New
Year Fair Stall (Booth No. 137) in Victoria Park as young
entrepreneurs. The main product specially designed for the occasion was
the Cheesy Mouse, an attractive and multi-purpose toy for the family. |

Mr. Simon Lam of World
Vision was invited to give a presentation on "The Rich & the
Poor in Today's China", causing our students to reflect upon how lucky
they are in Hong Kong and pledge to be good. Also our S4
Commerce students made an advertising campaign to invite fellow
schoolmates to visit their Lunar New Year Stall in Victoria Park. |

A Christmas programme was
held in the Hall with variety shows on choir singing, performance by
handbells group, Chinese orchestra and string orchestra. Our S7
students thanked the teachers for their upbringing over the years. The
programme ended in a festive mood with lucky draws. |

Association held an election of the Alumni Manager for the
Incorporated Management Committee from 15 to 16 December 2007. Among
the three candidates nominated, Mr.
T.F. Hui was elected Alumni Manager. |

pupils and parents from various districts visit our School and attended
the talk on "Strategic Consideration on S1 Discretionary Places
Application & Central Allocation" delivered by the Principal in
the Hall. |

and staff generously donated blood to the Hong Kong Red Cross in the
school hall. |

Our students participated
in the Eastern District Chinese Calligraphy Competition. Wu Yi of S2
won the 2nd Prize in the Junior Section and three other students gained
Merit Awards in both Junior and Senior Sections of the Competition. Congratulations to them! |

Mr. Lam Chiu Ying, J.P.,
Director of the Hong Kong Observatory and the Guest of Honour of our
Annual Speech Day, presented the certificates and prizes to our
students. He reminded our students to be a caring person for the
prosperity of mankind. |

Educational visits were
organized on this Lifewide Learning Day for the whole school with
students of different levels visiting different places for wider
exposure. On the whole, the event was successful. Our students enjoyed
their visits and found them resourceful giving them insights from other
perspectives. |

A consultation session with
the Principal and the representatives from Vitaland Ltd. was held in
the assembly to allow the students to understand the rationale
behind some of the school policies and express their concerns
on the operation of the Tuck Shop and the lunchboxes. |

Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad visited
our school and gave a talk to our S1 students on the recent preparation
for the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing and its importance to our
country. |

Association was held to elect Parent Managers for the
Incorporated Management Committee among the four candidates nominated.
Mr.
S.K. Tsoi and Mr. Y.H. Tsang were elected Parent Manager and Alternate
Parent Manager respectively. |

their entry pieces before they compete in the Symphonic Band Contest

On Learning. An introduction to the features
of the Putonghua online learning platform was then given and finally
Gary Fong of S4B shared his experience on the IT Camp held in
Shanghai during the summer vacation. |

was held in Aberdeen Sports Ground. The Champion was Yellow House. The
First and Second Runners-up are Blue House and Green House
respectively. Mr. Chu Sek Lam, our IMC Manager was invited to
address the gathering and present the trophies. |

Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association was held in the school hall
with thirteen candidates vying for the election of eight parent
executive
committee positions. Mrs. S.W. Chan was elected the Chairperson of the
Association for 2007-2008. |
