Purposes:

1.

To set up a system to monitor and carry out the policy to promote a healthy school campus.

2.

To provide a platform for teachers to share health related information, so as to raise the health concepts of all members in school.

 

Guidelines:

1.

A Healthy School Committee is setup and responsible for the construction of the overview of all the programmes in school, which is related to the promotion of Healthy School Policy.

2.

Programmes related to Healthy School Policy fall into three categories: Whenever a certain area of the Healthy School Policy is not adequately covered, the Healthy School Committee is responsible for organizing activities to fill the gap.

 

A.

Physiology, including drug abuse, addictive behavior, personal hygiene, physical fitness, prevention of diseases, first aid and healthy diet.

 

B.

Psychology, including mental health and dealing with pressure;

 

C.

Social skills, including academic pressure, peer influence, family life and sex education.

3.

Whenever a certain area of the Healthy School Policy is not adequately covered, the Healthy School Committee is responsible for organizing activities to fill the gap.

Heads of Functional Committees

 

Programmes for the Academic Year 2023-24

1.

Information display on increasing calories burnt in daily life

 

Information about calories burnt in daily activities like walking upstairs at school would be displayed on the school campus.

2.

Other possible activities co-organized with Home Economics Department

 

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, there should not be enough time for additional activities to be carried out in school, so online resources would be adopted. Suitable links, games or quizzes of relevant themes like ‘More about drugs’ and ‘Green Lifestyle - Low carbon food’ would be introduced to students through eClass. Home Economics Department would be invited to be the co-organizer. Prizes would be given to winners of the games or quizzes.

3.

Other programmes

 

The Committee would coordinate with heads of subject panels and functional committees in organizing programmes related to healthy school.
