The activity offered another opportunity for parents and primary pupils to understand more about the school life of the secondary schools in the Eastern District. Our staff members, parent executive committee members of the PTA and student helpers answered different inquiries about the admission mechanism and features of CCSC. Parents and pupils were also encouraged to visit our School on the Golden Jubilee Open Day on 7 & 8 Dec 2018.
The Music Fiesta, organized by Music Association, was well received by all teachers and students.
Every class from S2 to S6 participated actively in the competition and demonstrated their creativity, class spirit and above all, music talents. Their vocal and dancing performances filled the School Hall up with laughter and applauses throughout the two weeks!
The winning classes of Senior Forms and Junior Forms are going to perform their amazing shows again at the Christmas Programme.
Besides the preparation of a booth for giving out the school prospectus and answering inquiries at the exhibition prepared by the Federation of PTA of HK Eastern District, our Principal was invited to deliver a talk to help the visitors understand the features and development of our School better. Parents and pupils flocked to our booth afterwards, asking questions ranging from the admission mechanism, learning support to activities offered.
The assembly started with the Principal’s speech, in which he introduced the third major concern of the Annual School Plan – Building stronger ties with alumni. The speech was followed by an English musical “Into the Woods”, presented by the School Junior Choir. Lastly, students participating in the Juvenile Horseshoe Crab Rearing Programme and Odyssey of the Mind 2018 shared their knowledge and experiences with the school.
The assembly started with the Principal’s speech, in which he introduced the new 3-year School Development Plan this year. After the prize presentation, the two candidate cabinets of the Students’ Association introduced themselves, explained their platforms and answered questions raised by the schoolmates, so that students’ could cast their votes wisely during lunch time or after school.
The Principal welcomed all students back to school in the Assembly. In his speech, he stressed integrity and sense of responsibility as 2 key leadership qualities students should develop. The speech was followed by the prize presentation. Ms Christina Fu, an alumna, and her husband, Mr Roy Yung, two of the patrons of the JY Excellent Athletes Award, were invited to give away prizes to those students excelling in sports. Chairperson of Student Union, Yung Long, and Head prefect, Cythnia Ng, also made a speech to all students. Lastly, we had a self-introduction of the exchange student, Jannes Burch, who came from Switzerland, followed by the joint House Meeting.
We welcome our new S1 members and their parents by providing them with information about the school policy and school regulations as well as reminders for both parties on how to better prepare for and adapt to the new life. The achievements of students taking various art and music interest classes were also demonstrated to the participants for a glimpse of school life.
