This is a conservation programme co-organized by The Hong Kong Ocean Park conservation fund and The City University of Hong Kong. A group of 17 S4 biology students were responsible for keeping 5 juvenile horseshoe crabs for 4 months. All horseshoe crabs were then successfully released on 11 July.
We are glad to be invited to nominate students to take part in a 7-day-6-night exchange programme held by the Peking University in July 2015. Apart from visiting the school campus and popular tourist attractions in Beijing, the participants from different local elite schools will attend talks and forums on various topics. That will definitely be a precious eye-opener for our students!
We are elated to announce that our Drama Team has once again attained heartening results at the Hong Kong Drama Festival. This year, the creativity and pleasing work of the Team were recognized by the conferment of the Award for Outstanding Stage Effect and the Award for Commendable Overall Performance. Congratulations to all members of the Team!
Our students of the English Debating Team participated in the 2014-2015 Hong Kong Secondary Schools Debating Competition. They displayed outstanding debating skills and won the 1st runner up in the Term 2 Regional Final. 2A Chan Sze Wing was awarded the best speaker in the final. Congratulations to the team members!
Our Indoor Rowing Team has joined the Kowloon Regional Secondary Schools Indoor Rowing Championships organized by Hong Kong, China Rowing Association and Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College. Among the 481 participants, our students captured the following prizes:

A team of five BAFS students (Chan Tsz Man, Tse Kit Ning, Yeung Nim Yan from S5D, Sin Wun Hei Jeffy from S5C and Chau Yun Hang from S5B) won the first runner-up at the Accounting and Business Management Case Competition 2014-2015 co-organized by Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians Limited and Education Bureau. The team was required to write a proposal and conduct an oral presentation to analyze the business strategies of Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited, one of the leading jewellery retailers in Hong Kong. More than 500 teams from different schools participated in this competition this year. Sin Wun Hei Jeffy was also awarded the HKICPA scholarship 2014-2015.
Six S3 students Lau Hiu Ching (3A), Tang Hok Shing (3A), Chan Sin Tung (3B), Kwan Cheuk Nam Felix (3B), Tse Hiu Yi (3D) and Wong Man Yeung (3D) particiapted in an inter-school quiz competition organized by Shun Tak Fraternal Association Lee Shau Kee College. Questions covered both academic knowledge and current affairs. Our students demonstrated high levels of confidence, competence and cooperation and captured the second runner-up.
The Inter-School Table Tennis Competition has finally come to an end on 29 March. This is the first year that our Girls’ team has competed in the highest level Division I and B Grade Girls came fourth. Furthermore, Boys’ team came first in the Overall Boys Championship as both A Grade and B Grade Boys captured the third while C Grade Boys came fourth. Thus, both Boys’ and Girls’ teams will be competing in Division I next year! Congratulations to all team members! We wish to extend our appreciation to all of them, our coach Mr. Chung Pak Kei and team manager Mr. Leung Ka Man for their efforts and contribution.
The HK Indoor Rowing Championships & Charity Rowathon 2015 was held on 14th & 15th March. Cheng Kai Yee of S3B had captured the championship in Junior Women’s Individual 1000m (aged 16 & under) by finishing in 3 min 46.5 s. Our Indoor Rowing Team also took part in the Charity Rowathon and raised a fund of about $2000 for OXFAM. Furthermore, five students represented our school in supporting the organization of the event by acting as volunteer helpers. We wish to extend our appreciation to all participants and volunteers for their effort and contribution.
Our Red Cross Youth Team (YU222) has set another remarkable record! In addition to other significant prizes, the team has captured the overall championship in the Red Cross Outstanding Youth Team Competition for five consecutive years because of their outstanding performance in different aspects like first aid, nursing, service training and drilling. Red Cross Youth Team members, congratulations and keep up the good work! Thanks must also be given to teachers-in-charge Mr Chu and Mr Lo for their supervision and advice leading to the success of the team.
